Hello friends,
I was wondering if I could get some insight re: an issue I'm having with my '99 Range Rover?

I have had Land Rovers on and off for the last 15 yrs and this is the first time I've run into this problem. I am used to the normal quirkiness of Rovers but...

Essentially there is a sound that happens when accelerating quickly or if there is any resistance (such as going over a curb) The sound is like a machine gun firing, and feels like some sort of slippage. Could it be transmission, driveshaft, differential???
To be more accurate it sounds like a giant rubberband snapping and popping when accelerating primarily in the lower gears and especially when you have to get on it.

Has anyone experienced this? Any help is appreciated!

Welcome to the forum...

first thing I would do is check fluid levels in the transmission and the transfer case.
