Hitch lock removed and now what?

I lost a key to the hitch receiver lock and since I just took my LR for service, I asked the mechanic to remove just the lock. Take a look at the pics: did the shop remove too much? I bought a replacement key but the whole thing that the key is supposed to go into seems to be gone, too. I'd appreciate advice.

Sure looks like they broke it off. Been too long since I diassembled mine.

There was a video posted the other day at the end of this thread that shows all the interior parts to the hitch.

If any parts are missing, I'd let the LR dealer know all about it.

Yes, it was gone, the mechanic destroyed it. He bought a new one for me.
