LR will fail & be sold-off by Tata IF the new Defender fails to immediately gain traction with sales to a broad demographic. The Discovery 5 is still a fair way off from a complete redesign that MAY boost
sales back to the profitability that LR needs. The Range Rovers including Velar can't sustain LR's viability alone.
EVERYTHING is riding on the upcoming Defender!
I'll be keeping my highly modified TDV6 D4 forever, but maybe I'll buy a new Defender as a daily driver
replacing my wifes & my other 2 vehicles. The 2 liter diesels in D5 are very good, although I prefer the
torque of my 3 liter V6 diesel, so I'd be confident that a new 2 liter diesel Defender will be a good truck
& look like a "real" Land Rover.
After almost 3 years on sale here in Australia I'm yet to see a D5 with ANY aftermarket equipment. They
stand out on the highway because you don't see them very often as sales have been so poor. I've NEVER
seen a D5 in the bush - EVER!!!
