We bought a 07' LR3 HSE and it doesn't have a jack in it. The manual shows a scissor jack. Our DII had a bottle jack. Is the factory scissor jack any good or is a bottle jack the way to go?

Did you check under the right removable cover in the back? I don't think the jack is very good quality that comes with it.

Ditch scissor jack

Ditch the scissor jack and replace with a 6 ton bottle jack.

Is 6 tons overkill? Not being facetious, just don't know what the rule of thumb is on jacks.

I prefer the 6 ton jack because of the base is wider and is more stable. I purchased mine from walmart. Blackjack was the brand. Also you get the higher lift.

Where do you store it in the vehicle?

Everyone rips on the scissor jack, but I used it many many times to lift my LR3 and it was fine. It's certainly adequate for a random flat tire change now and then. For my garage I'd use something else.

I use the scissor jack too for now. It's been fine, I have some big jack stands I use when I do need to lift her.

Funny thing though last night I was removing the lugs off the wheels and the LR lug wrench sheared apart.
