2012 LR4 with 117k miles. Air conditioning no longer blows cold air. No errors/lights on dashboard. Replaced the #62 fuse, but no joy.

Is it worth trying a DIY recharge, or should I just just take to shop?

100f with no A/C is no fun at all.

Mine did the same last year. I did a DIY recharge and figured it was worth trying before spending big money at a shop. Pretty straightforward and has been working fine since then.

The advantage of having it filled professionally is that they'll evacuate the system first, which removes moisture and makes sure the correct amount of PAG oil is in there.

That said, you probably won't hurt anything if you try to do a DIY recharge. I'd be sure to avoid buying the can of refrigerant with "stop leak" since an actual shop may want to avoid working on the system afterward since it may gum up their equipment. Also -- at least on any car I've had, it's often the Schrader valves that start leaking.

How much is a fair price to have it professionally filled? My AC blows cool when 115F, but its not cold. It blows cold under 100F though. Not sure if that could be fixed so it blows cold at 115F?
