Hey everyone,
So I've done some maintenance on the Disco II, Brake Fluid flush, F/R Axle fluid, etc.
Any way I noticed that some of the lug nuts at all four corners seem to be swollen? The OE lug wrench barely fit the nut ( I mean less than half on).
I check some local auto parts stores & nada. Guess its a dealer part.$$$
Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

That seems wierd....who was the last person to put the lug nuts ONTO the wheels before this incident?

Someone has been using the wrong size wrench or socket to change/rotate the tires.

Right, thats what i was thinking, that they used so much force (impact wrench?) with the wrong size socket, they they just warped the soft aluminum heads of the lugs 'into' the new socket size. Looking at a pretty pricey replacement unless you can find someone with a lot of extra lugs. Be wary of who is and how they are working on your lugs.

Guys,
It is me! All I use is the OEM LUG wrench. Thats it, the lugs have never seen the business end of the impact gun . Maybe I am overtightening them?
Thanks

It is possible, but more then likely they are just getting old if all you have used is the OEM lug wrench...

or worse case, then are getting some corrosion under the pretty lug nut covers.... I wish they had not installed them.

How would aging lugs end up swelling Joey? Not trying to sound disrespectful, just trying to learn if there is any physics involved, or just one of those stabs in the dark at a possible reason...?

Aging, as in depending on the market it is located in and how often they are used. I could very well either be rusting under the chrome covers or could be getting a grim type of build up. Similar to how a car ages in say Texas versus how it ages it a Salt belt state like New York or Ohio. Different conditions can cause different effects to various parts of the vehicle.

Kind of like the Alpine windows or the seals on the rear three windows, In some climents you may never have any of these issue, but in other they age faster and either corrode in the case of the window areas or spit in the case of the seals.

That is what I mean by aging, let me know if this helps.

LOL, yeah that helps me out...in the CA heat and winters, my window seals are almost all cracked, and I have a lil bit of corroding/rust under both alpine windows....either way, I would guess our friend here needs to bite the bullet and get some new lugs huh?

That would be my thought.... and they are not cheap.... of course I have steel wheels on now, so a little rust doesn't effect them that much.
