Varying opinions on this too.
On LR3 I remember doing the first change at 1200 miles. Not a big fan of the theory of 15000 miles oil change (especially the first oil change after that many miles). My reasoning is just plain good ol laws of physics, friction, metal fragments, etc etc. I understand that modern engines are much more refined when it comes to initial wear and tear, but there is gotta be some frictional breakage there.
