Greetings all - While I haven't gotten my 'new' LR yet, I'm expecting to pick her up some time this week. I have bought an 06/Buckingham Blue model with low miles - trading up from a Jeep Wrangler (Matilda) and can't wait to experience the legendary, or is it infamous, British engineering/electrical and overall quirkiness.
I always tend to gravitate towards the cars that make you really want to WANT them - Volkswagen, Saab, Jeep and now Land Rover and from what I read LR will fit that bill, but with the benefit of the timeless styling, overall nostalgia and die-hard followership that I love about cars like the LR.
This car will mainly be a buggy for driving onto my local beach in the summer, also for use in towing my Hunter sailboat to the local launch, carting sporting equipment and gear to soccer games, triathlons and running events as well as bringing loads of kids wherever they need to go.
I'm looking forward to paticipating in the dialog with some obviously fanatical and knowledgeable LR folks. I'll post some pictures when the queen comes home.
