$30 ebay key + IID tool will be cheaper than a factory key.
Thanks for the headsup hickersb. I had already decided to get the IID Tool, also two KeyFOB's. That is the best way. The cheapest aftermarket I found was $450. When I got this last year I assumed $450 for a key. I was wrong.

I have a 2011 RRS, which has an identical recall. I got this recall completed at my local dealer and ever since then, when I fill the tank full and park it in my garage, I smell fuel in my garage. I don't smell it inside when I'm driving. Anyone experience this? I'm wondering if it's related to the recall repair.

Update. Got paid by Land Rover for having had the work done at my Indy a year prior to the recall. About $500. It took me setting an appointment for them to basically redo it all again with new parts. And then the refund as well.

Got mine done, they had it for a week. I was nice and left them the truck with maybe 2-3 gallons of fuel in it. Had just enough to drive home (about 45 mins) and filled it with fuel at “10 miles to empty.”

Then all the fuel came out.

Called the dealer and they sent a flatbed, so TBD I guess.

Man that sucks!! Case in point why I'm not letting a dealer touch mine. If it's not broke don't mess with it.

“We found the leak was coming from the fuel filler neck, that wasn’t part of the work done for the recall but we took care of it for you.”

I literally laughed out loud over the phone and asked how how they removed the fuel tank with the filler neck still attached. It’s possible they left it attached and just dropped/tilted the tank with just enough room to replace the cover, but that’s some hackjob level work.

There's no way to perform the recall without dropping the tank all the way out.
