Evening, I have a 2011 LR4 with the 5.0. Attempting to replace the evap detection pump above the spare tire area. Would you have any procedural resources on how a DIY might complete a R&R? Thanks
Kelly
Its a pain, but not difficult. Jack the suspension up to off-road height, lower and remove the spare. There are three (I think) bolts to remove the evap canister, remove those. You won't be able to take the canister out but it will be loose in place. There are two hoses for the pump, one big one just pops off, and I think the other was a clip. Then there are three bolts for that. You need to fiddle with the canister to move it around to get the bolts out and then get the part out.
Installation is reverse of removal. It helps to have a creeper with an adjustable headrest or even better a lift. Took me about an hour to do it.
