While attempting to drop my boat off at the local marina my foot slipped and the vehicle drifted into the water and eventually was completely submerged for about 3 hours until the police and tow truck pulled the vehicle out. Now the insurance company has no way to determine the mileage of the vehicle since all the electronics failed. Is there anyway to retrieve the milage from the cars computer or did the salt water get the best of that as well? I dont have any maintenace records because the only the maintenance the vehicle needed was oil changes which i did myself. Please get back to me if anyone has any information as to what i can do...Thank You.

Ouch, sorry to hear this... if and when the vehicle dries you. ( no more than a couple days or rust will sit in hard) put a battery in it and hope for the best you may get mileage. Otherwise I don't know of anyway to get it, since everything is connected to the BECM and if you pull it and put in another vehicle it will show the highest mileage of the two.

You might be able to have the LR dealer pull the mileage, but this will only work if everything isn't completely ruined.

Was it a new RR or an older one... you can always figure on 12k a year unless you know it had less, then I would attempt either the battery or dealer.
