Replacement body molding trim clips

I have the same problem with my 2005 LR3 side door panel that keeps detaching. I have purchased the replacement clips (white/yellow) but not sure how to remove the older clips that are still in the actual door. Am I suppose to cut or drill them out?

I just grab them with pliers and work them out. if one is stuborn you can bust off the top and knock it into the door.
