Any serious off-roaders here ever try the Rubicon Trail with an LR3? Experiences? Mods needed? I live fairly close and would love to try it some day.

I have heard it is quite a bit easier than when I posted that run 4 years ago. The county was getting ready to clear it out for more accessibility when we went. Some of my Norcal friends have confirmed that it is.

That said, I still think the basic under body protection and a winch are probably prudent to have.

Just read that a new stock Wrangler can make it through using the bypasses.
