Hello everybody. In the last past weeks my 96 disco manual has been put out a lot of check engine light codes. And the last two days it’s been having a tough time starting. When I first start my disco it sometime doesn’t respond to my key turning to start the engine it’s like a die battery. But if I try it again you can hear it attempt to start. Then it does after the second or third try.
I don't think it’s my MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR because my idle is fine. But I do have an Air Force One Intake system. My coil pack looks good still I only have 97000 miles on my disco. I already did a major tuned up on it. With all new spark plug, magnacore 8.5mm. Replace all 4 o2 sensors. I also install some hedman headers. And did a custom dual exhaust system with straight cats. Car was running fine for the last 4 month until now. Please could something please save my disco.

1. air fuel meter , random missed fired
2. multiple cylinder missed fired
3. ignition system failed

Starter or maybe he/she has a leaking injector, which causes flooding and a misfire (from running rich).

Should be easy enough to check the battery, and the starter is a quick fix also. Where is this person located?

alternator? I was just at my local rover tech and he was saying how he's been seeing problems with bad alts. they've been putting too much or too little flow to the battery and throwing off the entire system. shot in the dark, but check the current to battery.

i just order a new starter from british pacific. hopefuly it would come in tomorrow.

today i tested and change the battery still no good. i'm still getting check engine lights. with the same errors

if moose right about the injector what are my options to check that. i love my disco and i don't want another car.

Fuel pressure can be tested at the rail, to make sure it's not some strange fuel pump issue.

Injectors can be removed and tested for leaks. I've not done it but recall reading that they can be tested by shops that work on semis.

See if it's the starter first, though, then we'll help with your panic attack
