Series I (94-99)?
Series II (99-04)?
Mileage?

Is it the red SES light on the right (D1) or the amber Check Engine Light?

RoverGal has a D2 Moose.... if the SES light is blinking, check the codes.

You should only not drive it if it is red on a D2 if I recall correctly.

SES light...Mine too!!!! ARGH!!!

So, it's kind of annoying. In the past 11 months I've taken my car into a European Car specialist mechanic 3 times and it's at the dealership now. Its a 2000 Discovery II and has 41,000 miles on it. I live in the City so I hardly drive but the SES light keeps coming on so I keep taking it in. (The first time an oil change helped it for a few months, the second time the diagnostic said it had 7 things wrong with it...my mechanic checked and found nothing wrong, he reset it and the light stayed off all of one day of driving around doing errands.)

I took it back in and the then the diagnostic said that 6 OTHER things were wrong, which he checked again and found NOTHING wrong.)

I found there has been a recall on my car (for some kind of cap) so I took it back in to the delaership today hoping they'd be nice eough to tell me they would upgrade my computers software (heard this might be a problem) BUT apparently there isn't a recall to update our software...( I suspect this IS the problem).

Anyway, the engineers should REALLY be looking at faulty software on our cars...huh? RIGHT??

I am soooo frustrated!

I belive that this goes hand in hand with your other problem and I would have you head gasket checked. had the same problem and just put an engine in my disco.
