Sorry but this ktm guy was only insulting. I‘d love to get back to topic.

Enginge revs up usually when I slow down to less than 5mph.
And it happens when I press the brakes to come to a complete halt.
The first time I was thinking that I hit the gas pedal by accident since I was surprised. But since I‘ve been experience this behavor for at least 10 more times, I can confirm that it has nothing to do with accidently hitting the gas. It revs up to about 3000-4000rpm. By then I need to push the brakes hard for about 2 seconds before enginge slows down.
Any idea?

Perhaps go read the ORIGINAL post. OP claimed she had foot on the brake the entire time and vehicle moved forward and crashed. That is the topic of this thread...

Attached is an overview of the accelleration system, maybe some beginning of some path to diagnose, maybe you could find an accelerator pedal assembly somewhere to swap out?

Just for the sake of letting us try to experience your symptoms . . .

Could you take a cold morning and set up a camera that has a good view of the pedals and the tach/speedo? (Windows down so we can also hear the engine)
Then do a few takes until you get a clear video showing what you describe, and post it here?

@remember5: thanks for the Acceleration Control file. If it's a hardware issue, my guess goes more in direction of throttle body ... but honestly, I have no clue.

@Doug: I'm still trying to figure out where to put a cam that let you see tacho and pedals. Not an easy task. The other problem is, that it happens very randomly which makes me crazy. I could drive for a month without symptoms, the suddenly bam ... twice a day.
I was hoping that others experienced this before but now, I think it's better not to bother you guys anymore until I find out more. Most of you probably think it's just hot air and I would too if you told me that. No other car I ever owned/drove behaved like this.

BTW ... You already noticed, I'm new here and I'd like to introduce myself.
We love our LR3 2005 SE in Java Black and we use it often for travel including sleeping in/on the car. I built a basic setup in the back which can quickly be converted to a sleeping place for 2 kids - my wife and I are on top. Our last destinations where Sardinia (Italy), Croatia and Albania. There are only few places in Europe where you can enjoy your 4x4. In most European countries it's permitted to drive off-road. Our next destination was supposed to be Morocco - which has to wait for now.

Albania 2019. Ran into a bunch of solo Defender overlanders at a beautiful beach. Great people, they said, it's ok to drive a D3 ... you have kids . Then a Landcruiser HZJ arrived ..

Awesome!
In all of this back and forth I don't think you've mentioned talking to a pro about this phenomena/problem? Do you have a reliable indy mechanic? No offense meant by stating the obvious here, but I understand your concern and it'd be a shame to wreck that nice rig or WORSE injure you and/or the fam.

I do routine maintenance like changing fluids, filters, brakes ect by myself. When I have a problem, first place I go is the great LR community.
For challenging mechanical work like changing rusty control arms with stuck bolts, I have a trusty indy. He‘s an excellent mechanic but beeing an Alfa Romeo specialist he has no clue about LR which usually doesn‘t matter.
Maybe you’re right and it‘s about time to get help from a LR pro. If possible I‘d like to avoid the stealer.

That rig is SWEET and that picture in Greece is inspiring! What sort of sill protection do you have mounted there? How do you like that RTT? What rails did you mount it to?
