sun roof not moving

Hi everyone, hope you are getting ready for the summer driving to your favorite spots and not thinking about the cost of gas these days. I want to pick your brains about my sunroof, 95disco1, 149k, runs decent but I would like to have the roof working, it makes a loud rattle and stays close, it did work at about a yr ago but I am afraid that it may stay open. Any input on how I should attempt to repair, clean tracks.....thanks

Expensive fix = remove headliner, check motor and framing replace as needed.

Cheap fix = seal the glass and open driver and passenger windows.
