I was pulling a friend out of the mud this weekend when I heard something like the sound of a spring breaking and then the suspension fault message came on. Whenever I tried to raise and lower the car it sounds like a bunch of air just blowing out. It also says special programs off. Does anyone know what could have happened? Or how much it could potentially cost? Also, is the car safe to drive?

Sounds odd, does the vehicle still stay at regular height? In other words do the air springs seem to be holding air?. If so then maybe a leak around the compressor, pull the cover and check it out.

After that I would get try and track down where a line leak might be.

It sounds very similar to CoyGlasscock's "o" ring issues in the compressor manifold, which he was able to repair for a couple of dollars and an hour of labor or so.

Yea it displays a message that says normal height only after it says suspension fault. The truck did go into extended mode for a little while while I was pulling him out, I don't know if that has anything to do with what happened. But at worst how much do you think the fix would be?

I also forgot to add that the right hand side seems to be sitting a little lower than the left and overall the truck is sitting a little lower than it normally would. Not access height but just lower than normal. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm just worried it could be a 3,000 fix...

My suspesion issue is causing about $1000 to fix. I need a new compressor (roughly $850 dealer price) and an exhaust valve (about $200 dealer price). You can read my thread entitled "RIP suspension."

I'm getting the parts elsewhere and an indy Rover shop is charging me $250 for labor.

This morning I came out and the truck was much lower than it was last night, basically access height. I can't get the car to service till next Monday, could this cause other problems or should I be ok to drive around?
