Tire rotation warning in Owner's Handbook.

On page 194 it says "Do not rotate tires around the vehicle".

Thought that it was a good practice to cross sides when rotating tires on and AWD. Am i misreading whats mentioned in the handbook?

There is a school of thought that tires should only be rotated front to rear to maintain the same rolling direction as the belts "settle" with heat and based on direction.....
