Hey fellow LR3 owners. I just bought a 2005 HSE. I am loving it especially now that the gas prices are dropping! My dad always drilled into my head to be prepared. He always had a tool kit in his cars. My question is what kind of tools do you carry with you? Is everything on it Metric?

Everything LR is metric. I carry a box with a recovery kit (and I have a mounted winch), jumper cables, small wrench set, screw drivers, duct tape, extra oil and flares. I also carry a decent jack, since the OEM one is a POS, and an air compressor, since my spare is aired down to fit in the well under the bed. Besides that I have a first aid kit and a bag of straps/bungies and an oiled canvas tarp I use to protect the carpet-seats when I haul stuff or to spread on the ground if I have to get under the rig. Oh, and a snow brush.

Much the same here. Tool bag with hammer, hacksaw, big wrenches, flashlights, bailing wire, bunches of zip ties, etc.. and two tool rolls with sockets, gear wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc... I put all three of these items into a case like a Pelican case that can attached to the roof rack or stowed in the back, depending on my load out.

I use the cargo barrier between the backseat and load bay, and have misc bungies strapped to it, a fire extinguisher, flashlights, first aide kit, wet wipes, ARB field light, my HAM and CB antennas (when not in use), and 4 collapsible walking sticks for the family members.

In the cargo wells above the tires, I keep tree shears, spare FRS radios, spare recovery shackles, gloves, headlamps, zip ties, toilet paper, batteries, trash bags, air hose (for airing up) misc tire gauges/tools, etc...

In the cavities aft of the wheel wells (where some have A/C system) I keep a super siphon, jumper cables, emergency hand crank radio, 8 ton bottle jack, binoculars, and 3x30 recovery strap.

PHEW! Half your truck's payload consumed by contingencies . . . Where do you keep the brie and beer, though? (It's a silly question only if one's LR3 has the cold storage box under the front center armrest!)
