Here is an overlay of the paper gasket over the LubeLocker gasket:

So, now a question...

Part of the fluid replacement procedure involves warming up the transmission fluid so that the correct amount of fluid can be added while the transmission is hot. The procedure talks about running the transmission in different gears to help heat up the transmission fluid (using the GAP tool to read the temperature - that's the next question). I don't have a lift so the wheels will be on the ground; will it be possible to drive the vehicle having done the initial fill while the transmission fluid is cold? How do other DIYers deal with this?

Where do I find the transmission fluid temperature in the GAP tool interface?

Thanks.

Folks - Any thoughts, looking to tackle this tomorrow but need to know how to warm up those fluids with the wheels on the ground... Thanks.

In the gap tool there is a live values section where you can select transmission temperature.

When I did mine I took it for a drive around the block and still had to wait just a bit idling for it to get to temp.

I also put mine into extended mode and was able to do everything without having to use jack stands

Put it on stands. You'll need to as the fill process is done while its running.
Thanks. Just ordered another set of stands! Not sure I like the idea of the vehicle on 4 stands but I'll keep jack under there as well. This to me implies wheels turning freely while it's on the stands as I move through the gears, thinking perhaps to take the wheels off to lower the inertia...

Thank you. Think I'm going with the stands but your answer does seem to confirm it runs with a smaller amount of fluid! I may do the initial work in extended mode and then go to stands. Temperature for the fluid is 40C if I recall?
