Hey folks,
Is there a good service manual out there for my '96 Disco that you wud recomend???
Also, in the owners manual they recommend running (i think i have to order correct) lower tire pressures in the front tires and higher in the rear, around an 8 to 10 psi difference (on 135/75r16). WHY?????? Has it something to do with the weight ratio front to rear of the vehicle?. Or is it with the center diff AWD sending out ratio'ed power between front and rear diffs? With the diff locked u git a 50/50 torque split, so with differing tire pressures on a high traction surface yur gonna git some bind in the system (and possible damage) unless the tires can scrubb it off. Yeah, yeah! I know you should lockk the center diff off pavement. Just wondered why the differing pressures?? What pressure do u guys run??
I plan on putting on some 245/75r16's. The kid who sold it to me had some 275/70r16's on it and the tires hit the radius arms at full lock. I guess he figured it looked cool or something. I don't blame him tho, heck, I run 36's on my L.Cruiser Pickup and they look just fine!
