I just did the magnecor blue wires on my DI. They were easy to install and the lenghts were fine. I ordered them from roverconnection and were $67. I used bosch platinum 4's for the plugs. A bit pricey for the combo but I did notice a difference in acceleration.
I bought my '98 with 86k last summer. I did change all of the fluids, filters, plugs and wires etc. I will be replacing the O2 sensors soon, as well as the valley pan gasket, exhaust y pipe gaskets and have the radiator rodded for peace of mind.
I had same problems with mine. I just sprayed some wd in the locking mechanism behind the grill. I'm sure there's a better way to lube it but its been working for me.
Congrats. Check all the fluids and see if you can't find any records on when the maintenance was done. Fluids are cheap and a good way to get to know your disco. I would change all of the fluid if you don't know the maintenance history.
Also, check to make sure your center diff lock...
I had a code once, but oddly enough, it was the fuel evaporative system setting it off. I still need to replace the charcoal cannister. I'll get to it someday.
Mike, with your advice, I picked up a set of magnecors a few days ago and waiting for a time to get to work. You really should start working for them, sales maybe? LOL.
