Definitely looks like they have spacers as the tires stick out past the wheel arch. But whether that is required or not, not sure.

Meant to also say, the terra grapplers are a great all season tire with some offroad capability. I ran two sets on my old '04 DII over 60K miles. They are great in snow and ice.

I've also heard that the Redbourne's offset may be some of the reason they stick out so far...not a fan of the black, but the silver are on my short list.

So I stopped by my dealer yesterday. They said they've been having such great success with the Cooper Zeon LTZ that they're actually taking off the stock Conti's and putting on the Cooper's on their brand new LR4's. Here's some pics I took yesterday of a brand new 13' for sale on the lot with the Cooper's on. It looked great!

Did they mention anything about winter driving? Snow and ice?
Thank you

They said they're the best All Terrains they've used so far for the 255/55/19 and they've seen excellent tire wear from them. They said they were good in the snow & ice and they would be a great 1 tire all season but that a snow tire like the Blizzaks would obviously be the best snow tire but if I didn't want to switch tires in winters they felt I'd be satisfied with the Cooper's.

This is really good news coming from a dealer in Utah since there's plenty of snow there.
I might just go this route rather than rims and tires which come out to over $3,500.
Thanks Wusty

I'd love to go with Coopers, but I am not ditching brand new OEM tires for $0.50 on the dollar to do so. I may just use the OEM's first.

They forgot to mention these Coopers are also the ONLY All Terrains that come in size 255/55/19... I guess that automatically qualifies them as the best out there, but there are tons of winter tires that are way better than these Coopers over snow or ice.

I went through 3 sets of Cooper Zeon LTZs on my old Sport (the 18" version) and I liked them a lot on just about every dry and wet surface, except in mud and ice/snow, where I felt they were mediocre at best (they did well enough on groomed snowy roads, but every tire does well on groomed snow.... As soon as things got a bit slippery and icy, they were all over the place like most other non-winter tires.) I also disliked that they got noisy in a hurry past the 15-20k miles, although they started out pretty much as quiet as the stock summer Contis. As long as you understand these are no substitutes for winter tires though, they are great all-around performers.

I drove the Coopers in one early snowfall before I put on the Nokian Hakka winter tires. IMO, the Coopers were not good in snow, but then again I'm comparing them to the awesome Nokians.

Paul,

Where did you purchase the Hakka?
I was born in Finland and I've always wanted to have a set of Nokian tires.
What are the price and which Hakka do you get (there are many).

Thank you
