Anyhoo... Can anyone help with a diagram of the interior lock button assembly? The ones on the parts sites don't help. I may just remove the door panel to be safe

Do you want the break down on how to disassemble the door? From what I'm seeing in the workshop manual for the 13-14 models you have to pull the entire door trim out and replace that piece from behind. You can't pull it out without that work.

You’re welcome! I bought the full PDF workshop manual off eBay. It’s nice to have access to it. :)
So I completed this and sure enough it works. Thank you to @TheWidup for the diagram, big help. It was a pain in the ass and took about an hour and a half to do.... The reason it took so long was due to the disassembley of the door handle from the silver bracket. There are small tabs that insert into the door handle which could easily break so I cut them off in order to remove it safely and attach it to the new bracket. All in all happy I did it, cool to see the inner workings of the door as well.

was it a plug and play? did the memory setting work fine?

yes, plug and play but as notated above, kind of a pain in the **** to pull the handle from the silver bracket without breaking parts of the handle housing...you'll see. But just as a note, I disconnected my battery prior to doing this, not sure if that has anything to do with anything but full disclosure.
