Brake noise question

About two months ago, I replaced my front rotors and pads, as well as rear pads. Ended up using pagid rotors and brembo pads for the front and I bedded them in after install. Recently I've started getting an ugly groaning/squealing noise at really low speeds, right before coming to a complete stop. Then, when I slowly release the brake pedal to roll forward, same noise right as the truck starts moving again. Do I need to re-bed the pads or is there something else going on? Car brakes fine otherwise, no vibrations. Any ideas?

I'm curious about the bedding process you used, but separately, have you inspected the pads since that sound began? I recall a thread here where someone picked up a small stone or foreign object and it made a horrendous sound.

The noise after releasing is not good. Check the pins to see they are clean and non binding. Also check the piston is not stuck. Reassemble and see if that eliminates it.

Sounds like the calipers are sticking. Assuming that happens consistently. I'd use the brakes a bit and then stop the car and see if any one wheel seems hotter than the others.

Thanks guys. My brakes do need a flush and bleed so calipers sticking might be it(or its sliding pins). As far as bedding, I warm them up, do 6-8 50-10mph sudden stops on a clear road and then drive around without stopping. I'll check it out.

Did you cle3an and grease the pins when you replaced the pads?

A few months ago I read a post about the front brake pins. There are two different pins in the front brake calipers. One has a rubber ring on it the other is full size. If you install these pins in the wrong position your calipers will stick and the one pin will bend. They were talking about how hard it was to remove the pin after it was bent. I don't remember the year of the LR4 but I believe it may have been a 2013. I know my 2015 has these different pins. I replaced my front brakes last summer and have not had any problems. You might look do a search for brakes hanging up and see what you can find out.

That was my thread. Yes one pin has a bushing (noise reduction) and that sucker will stick if the rubber swells. Clean and lube at least yearly and use a silicone based lube. Fail to do so at your peril.

Anyone know if the pin with the bushing goes in the upper or lower position on the front and rear?
