Sorry to hear about your accident- I thought about the method to replace the internal bag for about three seconds and purchased the complete air strut - your story reenforces that buying the entire unit complete was best decision.

I like my fingers as they are :)

2010 Lr4 with 114,000 miles and I am currently getting sag in front right corner (already replaced suspension compressor) after sitting overnight and am about to replace front air shocks and see quite a few brands. Should I stick with Atlantic British as a replacement shock ($350 each)? Any other ones work just as well? Truedrive($419 each)? Suncore ($355 a pair)? Lucky8 ($329 a piece)? Rovers North (Bilstein $739 each)? Arnott ($700 pair)? Partsgeek ($433 pair)

I will keep this Lr4 about another 20-30k miles. Also replacing upper control arms and tie rods as there is play in bushings. Thanks for the help

The Atlantic British ones are OEM - fit perfectly - remember to deflate struts before you attempt to remove... don’t mess with the center one as noted by Ravi Singh in this tread...

Arnotts are ~520 a pair(260ish per side). They've been working great.

Have you checked / replaced the front valve block? Are you certain it's a failed airbag/shock assembly?

On the front struts on the LR4, is there any way to get at the innermost top bolt from inside the engine bay like there is on the LR3? Or is the ratcheting wrench the way to go?

Maybe if you removed the battery box and valve cover insulator, you could get to it. But, ratcheting wrench is the way to go.

Yeah, I'd rather just do it from inside the wheel well versus removing all that stuff. On the LR3, it looks like you just have to remove a heat shield.

May do my front struts this weekend or next. No real problems with mine; they just have 102k miles on them so I think I'm on borrowed time and want to see if the ride improves with new struts.
