So i replaced my fuses 2 months ago with 40a because they were blown. Have used the windshield numerous times since, and today it stopped working. This is what I saw when I looked at the fuses.
Any suggestions? Wiring in the pillars looks good. Fuyao windshield.

Have you checked the underside of the fusebox for a diagram? My LR4 has them swapped to the F-slots above to the left (where the pink 30 A fuses are)

The windshield fuses have moved around based on model year. For sure the 2006 LR3 and 2010 LR$ are where the picture shows (not the f slots). Later years may be in other places and is further proof this had been a concern for Land Rover. Perhaps the non F slots should never have had 40A placed in there. That would make sense and why Land Rover abandoned the TSB.

following up on my heated windshield saga...

Safelite has reviewed the fuyao glass they installed and determined they will replace it with OE glass, with actual Land rover branding. It will take a few days to order, but this will hopefully be the end-all solution.

Because we know that OE Land Rover parts are fail safe.

j/k, this is as good an outcome as could be expected.

I wonder if there is a resistance spec for the windshield? Would save a lot of time and energy to test before installing.

still waiting on my windshield.
while I am grateful that safelite/geico will be getting me OEM glass, its a slow process.

glass was ordered 2/18. safelite is now telling be it will be 14 business days from date of order, since its coming from the UK. that puts me at 3/9, when they call to schedule the install.
by the time its installed, at least ill have a working windshield for next winter. lol

not only am i surprised that there are none stateside, but if its true, I also feel a little special that they are getting me hard to find glass.

this is the first cold season Ive had with my LR4 and the heated windshield is not working.

The button light on the dash illuminates when pressed, and there are no relevant errors (scanned with IID tool), but the frost is definitely not melting away.

So if the IID Tool does not indicate errors when the windshield heater is not working, how do I actually confirm it is working other than wait for winter and just try it?

We purchased a used 2016 LR4 a couple of years ago and I am getting it ready to take my daughter to University in the fall in upstate New York. We are in Houston and have never tried the heated windshield. It is a Benson.
Thanks

Thanks for that answer... if I can find it!

But to answer myself...

I tried it and it turns out that on my LR4's, both 2013 and 2016, the heated windshields will come on at 70F - current ambient temperature.
(I had read in a post somewhere that it had to be cold out before they turned on, apparently not true..)

Using the IR Thermometer, I can easily take the temperature on the TX registration tag that is on the inside of the windshield.

First time ever turning on the function since we bought the 2013 new!

Both windshields work just fine, I ran them both up to 85F.
The 2016 is on a short timer and turns off too quickly (when that IID tool shows up I am going to see if I can change that!), the 2013 does not turn itself off (at least as long as I ran it).
The 2016 most definitely knows when that heater is on, the electrical load is noticeable at idle - that's the Benson.
The 2013 does not react when the heater is on - that's the OEM. (Pilkington and Rover markings).

Now a new cowling on the 2016...
