OK everybody, I'm sharing 4 videos: 1 shows behind the CJB, 2 and 3 will show the source of the short that I found and repaired, and the fourth shows the wiper functioning normally again.

Great work! Do you keep it parked outside? My Vizslas are constantly sniffing around and under the front of our LR4, which is garage kept. It has always had me worried that mice found their way in there somewhere and made a nest.

That’s great news. Wish I could make sense of how those wires being chewed ended up turning your rear wiper on (and not causing a whole host of other problems), but I simply can’t. I can find them on the diagram (based on the colors you gave), but I can’t trace them to any logical conclusion for this fault. For sure, though, a great find. That rodent damage was destined to cause many headaches beyond just the wiper in the future.
It's possible, maybe, that the black wire that was also chewed was conducting the power to rear wiper module via ground wires running through the whole vehicle... but again, I would have thought that would cause a host of problems, not just a wiper malfunction. The way the short presented itself definitely made finding the bare wires much harder.

I do keep it parked outside, but it's my daily, so it's almost always on the go. The rodent damage was definitely from when the truck was on the lot waiting for sale, or even before when the previous owner had it. I imagine I jostled the bare wires together when I was pulling the drain hose through the body, past the firewall pass-through for all those wires, and behind the bracket for the CJB.

This perfectly illustrates why wiring and electrical problems are so hard to deal with: what I started working on had nothing to do with the problem that presented itself afterwards, and the problem and it's apparent fix have no logical connection according to Land Rover wiring diagrams. Electricity is a ************.

I thought of that, but the grounds tend to be local. They’ll splice a bunch of grounds together, but they don’t seem to run grounds huge distances. So, most of those ground wires coming out of the engine junction box are grounded up in the fender areas, around the central junction box tend to be in the passenger compartment, etc. That juice would need to flow a long way to get back to the wiper and would cause a lot of problems along the way.

I think this one will just remain a mystery. BTW, nice job on the videos. I enjoyed the commentary - much more real world than what I normally see.

I'm all for a mystery. I'm just fairly proud of conquering British electrics, one of the most feared enemies of the automotive enthusiast!

Thanks for the props on the videos. I'm not a YouTuber, so I don't have to worry about being demonetized when I curse and swear my way through a project. That makes it real-world IMO.
