Hi,
My 2018 LR4 is suddenly locking itself at night. I park in a garage and leave the keys in the car - done this since I bought it. Now when I go out in the morning I am locked out of the car. I have to use my second set of keys to get in. Any thoughts?

so i cant find the post but i cld have sworn my 2011 LR4 used to have autolock, not with keys in the car but if you walked away from the truck. my 2013 doesnt do it so unlikely the 2018s do.

I've noticed that if my LR4 is locked and I unlock it remotely with the key fob while waiting for the kids to get out the door of the house and into the vehicle that it will relock itself if it takes too long for them to enter the car. That's the closest I've had to the experience you are relating. Maybe it's doing something like that.

If your LR4 is locked, and you unlock it but don’t open a door within 2 minutes it will relock. Pretty sure that’s in the manual somewhere.
I don't lock it at any point. Drive in the garage, shut the door, come back in the morning and its locked.

I took my LR4 to a local indy mechanic to do some routine work. When I came to pick it up, the key was missing, lost inside the car (turned out it slid deep under the driver's seat and it had to be pulled to get to the key). We knew the key was inside the vehicle because you could start it up without the second key fob (which I had brought with me}. Interestingly, you could NOT lock the car no matter what you tried. As long as the key was inside, the vehicle would beep and flash when you tried to lock it and refuse to be locked.
