Yes, both Handsfree and music streaming work side-by-side. In fact, on your phone you will see it connected to 2 different BT devices.
That’s news to my ears!!! FYI, I didn’t know the phone could actually put to two different devices at the same time.
On the other side on the house, after doing a little bit of digging, it appears as though the only real difference between the 10-11 and 12 & up audio systems is the Integrated Audio Module. (Or radio interface module as some sites refer to it.).
Honestly, I just assumed it was a Bluetooth thing, but As far as I can tell, the Bluetooth receiver module is the same from 2010 all the way through 2017. (Unless they just update the 10-11 module to the newer one if replacing).
I also discovered that the display system is the same for the entire LR4 lineup....which makes the IAM the only real part that updates right around 2012-2013. From a visual standpoint, the one in the manual has 2 extra connectors. One connector that appeared to be missing I believe is the hard drive connector...as I believe in 2012 they got rid of the hard drive and went to some sort of Integrated SSD that could be updated via Safelite....I think. Truthfully I can’t remember the specific NAV storage system update, but I’m fairly confident they got rid of the hard drive.
All this is to say, we may be able to update the IAM from LR040663 to the slightly newer CF6N-18C815–JA (I think that’s a Jag part number....should cross with LR087427....or one of the many interchange parts).
One of the few remaining questions I’ve got, is if the HD is now out of the loop, are the NAV maps kept on the IAM somewhere? Or would we need to track down that interface system as well.
Things to ponder....[emoji848]
