I recently replaced my front struts and reused the air springs as they were in good shape. The reseal kit came with 2 large o-rings that fit around the outside of the collar that mates the strut to the bag.
That collar has 2 more inner o-rings that I had to re-use.

Anyway - looks like I've introduced a leak into the system and I suspect it's the 2 large inner o-rings. I'm about to pull the struts and redo them but unsure where to source the extra o-rings from.

Just curious if anyone else has done this and had any luck?

What I've done in the past to great success is soak used o-rings in AT-205. I recommend doing it for at least several hours. It restored their flexibility and you can re-use them as long as they're not torn.

To loop back on this, the o-rings were fine. I had a leaky bag (or I introduced a leak when I rebuilt).
Got a junkyard bag to fit my new strut and now all is good again.

I'm curious about your initial front strut problem. How many miles was it and what was happening?
The vehicle wasn't driving like it used to. Felt a little 'wallowy' for lack of a better term. I've owned it for 8 years/70K miles so I know how it's supposed to handle.
Car has a total of 140K miles on it now.
I had previously replaced both rear strut/bags with OEM (BWI) due to a leak in one of the bags.
I figured my 'wallowing' was due to the front struts having worn out. Rather than replacing bag+strut; I went the cheaper route of replacing just the struts with Bilsteins.
Turned out the original struts were in not too bad a shape. Rebound was acceptable. The new struts haven't made much of a difference and I'm still chasing the loose feeling in the car. I did the LCAs last year due to the bushes having worn out (again). Upper control arms seem fine. Still trying to pinpoint my wallowing :).

@ John Higgins - great subject and I have just refurbished my front air struts with the kit available from Atlantic British -Air Suspension Strut Sealing Kit LR016412, Original Equipment By BWI, For Land Rover LR3, LR4, And Range Rover Sport.

We haven't yet put everything back together and charged up (project ongoing), but I wonder how your air strut refurbishment went.

Any thoughts or insights or recommendations?

In the meantime, good luck with figuring out the wallowing....

The passenger side Front Air Strut before removal and then the mounts after removal.

I was surprised how corroded everything was (but probably should not have been).

This goes to show how much maintenance and servicing all these things need over time.

Here is the strut after initial cleaning (with wire brushes and some lubrication).

And the two struts after some more cleaning in preparation for painting and then installation of new hardware (with the kit that contains new o-ring seals, spacers, and a nut.)
