I'm assuming that the main advantage of the ARB Bull Bar and bumper is that it can take abuse...what else? It doesn't mess up the airbag operation?

Four things (in order of usefullness):
1. Slightly improved approach angle, especially at the tires (useful for going over boulders)
2. Place to mount the winch
3. Place to mount lights & limb risers
4. General durablity

The ARB bumpers are designed with "crush cans", little accordian style brackets that attach the bumper to the frame, making the bumper airbag compliant. It's a good thing, but also a weakness, preventing it from being a true rock bumper.

I have to agree, that looks really nice ! I think that powder coating it was a really good move. I wonder how a Black one would look on my Black LR3...?/QUOTE]

Check out mine to see black/black

JWest - I thought I saw your LR3 for sale not too long ago - did you decide to keep it? That has to be one of the sweetest LR3s out there.

Jim, judging by the pictures and the titles, it looked like you had raised each side rear tire into extended height and snapped a photo....if that's the case; how'd you do that?

The ARB Bumper looks nice.

It's the Kaymar bumper. Have you all not heard of it? Pretty simple install as well.

I didn't raise the thing into extended height but rather induced it by accident as it tried to gain traction on a steep reverse uphill. The extra height was pretty amazing actually. The sill slider was at my kneecap.

Thanks.

Who distributes the Kaymar for the LR3 in the US? (Meaning, where did you get it)

yeah, I changed some tires the other day and the LR3 thought it was high-centered and went into extended mode. The back bumper was at my waist !
