Howdy folks. I'm new to the world of the Rover being a recent convert from that four letter off road bunch (Jeep). I have a 96' disco that is being torn down to rebuild a 4.0 engine. It has a cam lobe wiped out and there is metal in the oil filter. Need advice on building the ultimate 4.0 engine for power, reliability and torque. this vehicle is bone stock at the moment and will be a daily driver with once or twice a month use off road. looking at lift, bumpers, winch, racks, armor, lockers, axles. Not looking for a monster engine, more set on reliability. Basically want a bulletproof engine build that will last me forever with a little more power. All the engine work will be done at a performance engine shop. be delivering it this week for the tear down. Therefore I put it to the experts, building the "dream 4.0" what would you do??? Thanks Rob.

you want the experts on the Rover Engine check this site out: http://www.aluminumv8.com/index.htm (best viewed in internet explorer)

as far as the rest many opinions as to what is the best and what is needed... My opinion it depends on how and where you plan to off road.

You need to look at RPI as well as they are specifically Rover V8 specialists.
