Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I would ask around local big chain tire dealers to see if you could try out the 275/65 setup. It can't hurt to ask and that way you can make a 1st hand informed decision.

Five new Compromotive P1880s are scheduled to arrive at my doorstep this morning and I still haven't decided on the tire size. I really want to try out the 275/65/18 but I'm afraid that they'll rub quite a bit. I'm still trolling for anyone with a setup like this. By the way, I installed the Magnaflow Cat-Back this weekend. Sounds and runs great.

How do you like the Magnaflow? I had mine installed last month. My only complaint is that the muffler hangs lower than anything else under the center of the truck. I worry about smacking it into something face-on and damaging it. It drones a bit too much for my taste between 1500-1800 rpm, but outside of that the thing is fantastic. Full throttle sounds like a proper V8 should!

Let us know if you end up going with 275/65r18 and if and how much the rub. I will be looking to reduce my tire size (265/70r18) when my current tires wear down. The 265/70 tires rub a little more than I would like.

Saw an LR3 at the dealership yesterday that was running 285/60/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers. Looked to be sitting at normal ride height as well.

Does tire width really make the issue with these vehicles and larger tires or is it the height?

Also, what do you guys do to re-calibrate your speedo's?

Before you do anything, I highly recommend inspecting every wheel as a few of us had some chips/nicks.

I think the 275/65 will be a good size and probably the size I will go with next when I replace my 265/70.

Not sure if you got your answer to this already.... but for me, I can't really use access height. I suppose it depends on the wheels you go with. My wheels have a low offset, so I run Johnson Rods all the time to avoid rubbing in normal height. I can drop into access height, but I can't turn the wheels much before the rubbing begins. I personally do not drop into access height to do anything other than pull straight into a garage or make getting in/out of the truck easier for a passenger.
