Fan Removal

Good Evening,
Repair manual for Land Rover Discovery II instructs me to remove the viscous fan prior to replacing the thermostat; I don't have the specified tools (LRT-12-093 & LRT-12-094) and would like to know if there is a generic alternative that I could pick up at an auto parts store; also, repair manual refers to RH thread - does this mean clockwise to tighten?

Any parts place will have a fan removal tool... or you can go to a bicycle shop and buy a 4 way tool that work .

Clockwise to tighten.
