Greetings and Merry X mas, I recently purchased a 05 LR3 with new Yokahoma Geolander tires that were severely out of balance, yesterday I noticed the shimmy that was corrected at 55+ MPH had returned. So are they out again, or is there a front suspension issue?
I seem to have a slight "movement" is steering in addition to shimy.
Truck does no pull to either side.
Oh, my weights are not on the outer rim but stuck to interior wheel.

Remember when a tire starts a wear pattern there is no way to stop this pattern. So if the tires were out of balance, and started to wear even though you rebalanced the tires/wheels the wear will continue. So as it wears you will need to re-balance the tires again until you change them out.

This is the reason you should always check tire pressure and have the tires at least balanced every oil change, but I also rotate mine unless you have a vehicle with staggered wheels.

Joey - I never knew that once a tire started wearing improperly, it was destined to continue wearing that way. That seems to go against what I would have thought - why does the tire continue wearing that way

Tires have an unusual character in that once they start to wear they continue to wear in that pattern, maybe at a reduced rate, until they are replaced.

Basically it is like a pair of running shoes, once you start to wear them a certain way, even if someone else was to wear them again the wear pattern has already started, so they will continue to wear quicker in the worn in areas.
