Looks good. If Rover is charger $1000+ I would expect them to last more than 5 years, but they don't. They should be embarrassed they sell that crap. Hopefully your magnetic aluminum ones last longer lol. When mine went I pulled the boards and brackets and still have the plastic with the squares cut out. The boards were handy when the kids were little but now not needed as they are driving the LR4. I should put some sliders or something on there to cover the holes or perhaps order some new trim.

The degree of rot you uncovered is insane. Glad the new ones went on smoothly. Looks nice.

They all look like that after a while. The aluminum frame and plastic covers hide the rot. It will be interesting how Land Rover handles the newer ones when they rot since they are part of the safety structure.

That exact thought came to my mind while I was working on replacement this weekend.

I have a 2016 and there is a lot more steel in the newer ones. Might take off the plastic and hit them with some fluid film or something

Of there is a lot of steel, then it all turns brown and flakes away. Hopefully Rover used beter materials in the newer ones.

You can see the side crash protection block in the middle. Not sure if the square tubes are bigger than previous. It seems the biggest upgrade is that the step is made of plastic instead of sheet metal under the plastic step cover.

@zski128 - what’s up with that wheel camber? Were you on the lowest setting?
