I got a Harbor Freight bottle jack, drilled and threaded a hole, and screwed in a threaded rod the right diameter. Seems to work fine.

That's an interesting idea. So you've got a rod that fits perfectly into the hole in the frame at the jacking locations? What tonnage bottle jack did you go with?

I basically ground a bolt head down to the right diameter for the pin. I also put a hard rubber washer in on top of the jack. I unthreaded that bolt and the washer for both these pics, so hopefully it makes sense.
