I've had a great experience with my Compos and larger sidewalls, 265 65 18s off road. Most comfortable ride I can ever remember having. I've done rocky Eastern Sierra, Desert Reno, and general trail runs. I have to save the serious rock climbing stuff until after my wife's done with the vehicle as her daily driver.

What types of problems are you having with the struts?

thank you all for the feedback.
i blew front struts twice while offroading in sand with couple of accidental short jumps. i believe more rubber will protect struts beside the better ride.
how low you deflate your tires on sand?

Well, here is what I have done to mine (don't think I have ever tried to type up everything at once). Pick what you think works for you, and have at it.

1.25" Wheel Spacers
18" LR3 Wheels
275/75R18 BFG KO2
Frame Horns cut/welded, Fender Liners Trimmed, Rear body flanges flattened (haven't messed with Rear wheel well coolant routing pipes, though. So far, no issues with those.
ProSpeed Roof Rack
Front Runner Rear Ladder
Tactical Rovers Front Bumper
Tactical Rovers Rear Bumper w/ dual jerry can and spare tire swing outs
Tactical Rovers Rock Sliders
Tactical Rovers T-Case Skid Plate
Tactical Rovers Fuel Tank Skid Plate
Asfir Rear Diff Skid Plate
GOE 2 position adjustable rods
GOE Emergency Air Kit
Traxide Dual Battery w/ various added 12v, usb sockets
TJM 9,000 Pound Winch
LRA 29 Gallon Auxiliary Fuel Tank
ARB Under hood Compressor
ARB Front Locker (still in installation stage)
120 watt solar charger w/ Victron Charge Controller mounted under hood
Noco G7200 Charger under hood (still working to perfect a bracket for this)
Noco Shore Power Plug in Front Bumper (again, this is a current project)
Wilson Cell Phone Booster
Kenwood VHF/UHF Radio, Antenna, Etc.
Big Sky Overhead Gun Rack - Holds Rifle and Solar Panel
Gap IID Bluetooth Tool

Future Projects Under Consideration
Compomotive Wheels (I would have already had these, but have had no issues running spacers in 40,000 miles)
Sleeping/Cargo Platform in Rear
12V Fridge in middle of second row of seats
Hard shell roof tent (seems awesomely convenient, but leery of putting 125 on the roof)
CB/GMRS/FMRS Radios
Rear/Side Work Lighting

Here she is going up "the wall" at Poughkeepsie Gulch, CO a few years ago. Video doesn't do this obstacle justice. And forgive my buddy's gooberish comments at the end.

Jumps! haha That will do it!

I don't traverse deep enough sand to make it worth my time to air down. On rocks I'm down near 20 psi or so, give or take.

Somewhere out there is the video of one of the idiots from Top Gear America jumping the Overland Journal LR4 truck. It's painful to watch. Fender Moldings go flying in four different directions....

I remember reading the write up of the damage it caused, and it surprisingly wasn't much IIRC. New plastic molding mount tabs, an alignment, and maybe a windshield.

Guess I'm getting old. Only lost 2 fender moldings.

Very cool but I don't think you have a custom tire size ;) They don’t make a 275/75.... you probably have the 275/70 roughly 33”.

With the mods you have done, you should consider a 34” next. I have all the same mods plus the strut spacers.

I’m using the km2 in 34” 285/70-18.

:
Never mind, I forgot your on an lr4 and using those think spacers. FYI, H&R makes a 1” spacer that does what you need still while buying more clearance on turning and articulation into fender liners.

Ideally the most clearance for an lr4 without swapping brake rotors down to lr3 size is to use the Compomotive wheels which have very little extra offset. It’s just enough but gives up very little in clearances.

I actually have lr3 v6 sized factory rotors which allow factory 17’s. Some ideas for youndown the road.

Nice video ! I go out alone a lot and am too dang lazy to set up a tripod but I am now inspired!
