Just noticed that my wife's LR4 coolant expansion tank was empty. Never noticed any coolant leaking out. I took it into the dealer and the water pump had a very slow leak. So now both our 2013 LR4's have new water pumps. Seems to be a common issue.

It is a common issue. They changed the gasket after the initial tsb, but yet some 2013's (and earlier) still have the issue.

I watch mine. I still don't know exactly how the replacement parts differ to what our 13's have already. Or if they even differ at all. Anyone know?

Do you have a link to that TSB? I might bring it in for my next service.

2013 with no issues yet *knock on wood*

Just went in for service and the tech found a small leak as well. I didn't have a low coolant message.

Here is the TSB. My question is whether or not the dealer will perform the repair at no cost.

My dealer told me today that my extended warranty would cover the repair, but that I would still need to pay the deductible. Is this the case or should I not have to come out of pocket?

In my case, any time I trigger the extended warranty I have to pay the deductible.. Which has been painless so far, as the $2K in repairs has been worth the $100.

My coolant was a bit low about a year ago and based on bad stories I brought it in. They checked it under pressure and found all was good and topped it off. No problems so far.
