It better jump over 14 real soon!

that doesn't sound right... I drive with a very light foot, but I am getting 15-16mpg average at 1400 miles, about 50% freeway (with elevation changes) and 50% around town (flat). I didn't even get lower than 15 going up to the Sierra's and that's a long uphill climb (though on the way down, I still have to use the gas to keep up the speed).
Something doesn't seem right with your numbers... are you driving in Sport mode or pretty heavy on the gas pedal?

Nope. I'm being so easy on purpose and am always in (D)rive. This last tank was all but 40 miles on the highway and I still got 12.8 MPG (my calculation).

The software upgrade and 2 new fuel senders helped nothing.

I am in the middle of a tank of gas where I will compare the trip computer Average MPG and my measured MPG from the tank fill up vs mileage travelled. I'll let you know what I get.

The trip computer is pretty good on my SE. I try to use the same pump at the same station, and at fill up do the math. It's pretty dead on with the avg. I'm noticing slight improvement with mileage too, I'm almost at 4000 miles and this weekend coming back from central PA for the first time saw 17.1 mpg avg on the computer.

Have they looked at the intake or throttle settings? This V8 reminds me of my 98 Mustang Cobra, a little throttle goes a long way. It suprises me often how it opens up with minimal changes on the accelerator... almost too responsive but the weight and all wheel drive certainly keeps the LR on the road where that SVT 32-valve mod V8 would push the stang's rear end out from under me.

It got the software patch for the stalling issue (happend to me once) it's supposed to adjust the low end idle. I'm not sure if it makes any other adjustments???

I'd be happy to have seen ANY improvement. But it's exactly the same as before. I appear to be getting 11 mpg around town and 13.5 on the highway. The last tank was all I-95 (Philly to Jersey and back) and I got 12.5mpg for the tank.

I'm filling up every 220 miles when the truck should be getting more around 340 MPT. That's an average of 120 Miles or 10 gallons at every fill up I'm losing. I fill up twice a week so at $2.25 a gallon... driving this truck is costing me $180 a month more than it should (more importantly than I planned on).

$2,160 MORE a month for gas than promised on my 57k truck is horrible. Plus, the AUX radio input is useless. And keeping me from adding DVD the way we wanted.

While I'm at this... the NAV is all but useless (great NAV but a computer thats entire purpose is to help me find where I'm going when I'm driving that DOESN'T operate when I'm driving is ponderous). To boot the f'ing thing doesn't switch regions when you leave one. I drive in and out of region #8 & 9 almost daily. So when I need a gas station (which happens a bit) in PA it finds me one in NJ.

LR kept the truck for 9 - That's NINE days to upgrade software and swap a seat motor and a fuel sender. And still missed 3 items on my list, just totally missed them!

When you sell 20 to 25k of something in a country where billions are sold you better sure as hell treat the few customers you have like gold. Maybe LR should take a look at the NHL for an example of what happens when you treat customers the way I'm being treated.

Re the NAV issue, 90% of us don't have that problem, I would wager... but I could see how it is a pita for someone like yourself that traverses the state border often.
AUX input, I haven't tried... but I will someday if I get an IPOD or whatever.

For me, the big issue is the gas mileage. Where is all this extra gas going? I would assume the right proportionof air/gas is going into the engine, otherwise it would suck wind being too rich. If that's true, then you must be making more power. But you haven't reported that. You said you haven't been driving with a lead foot. The only possible explanation is you have a slow gas fluid leak somewhere... I mean where else can it be going?!

Askewed, posted this in another forum, but here are my MPG numbers for the weekend:

Trip computer shows:
- 15.9 mpg
- 44.9 mph
- 264 miles

Odo:
- 265.5 miles

Filled up the tank with 17.41 gallons, so by measuring this way, I calculate 15.25mpg... so pretty close to trip computer.

I have some pics of where I was on the freeway, cruising 65mph, and the trip computer was reporting 20.0 mpg.

Even climbing up to 7000 ft plus, I got an average of 15mpg...

I frequently do the DC to NY/NJ trip and the NAV zone thing doesn't seem to be an LR issue. We were in central PA last week looking for a grocery store selected a SuperFresh that was supposedly 7 miles away. At about 8 miles my gf looks changes views and we were headed for a superfresh in Baltimore some 191 miles away. I've got an aftermarket unit in my SE, if I'm not in my home zone I have to give the stupid unit about 3 - 4 minutes to figure out where it is. Other folks I know with NAV that travel notice similar burps.

Having my stereo guy swap my current unit for a Pioneer AVIC unit today, we'll see if it has the same problem. I'm swapping for several other reasons however.
