Took my 2012 LR4 HSE in for the fuel tank flange repair at an East Coast LR Dealership 3 weeks ago. Had the recall notice sitting at home for months prior. Didn't want any LR dealer touching my beauty because of the rumors of shoddy workmanship and high prices for repairs($280/hr)...I've always taken it to my mechanic who works only on Land Rovers($185/hr)...Yeah, I do the oil changes/Maf cleaning/blades/lights/filters/cosmetics etc...
So the free flange replacement is free; Had to give them a chance...
Made an appointment and while on the phone they asked me if I needed a loaner car...I declined, guilt I guess, anyway I went there with less than 1/4 tank of fuel.
What a wonderful bunch and experience. I went in and was cordially and promptly greeted. I felt welcomed...
I felt like I was in a Star-ship command center. There were 4 agents, in a straight line, at their stations behind a counter and behind them was a Commander type guy(Chuck) sitting at his own large half circle shaped desk.
I Told them who I was and why. Seconds later a nice guy comes out and starts taken pictures of my vehicle. We talked and I showed him a minor ding on the LR, otherwise it was in perfect condition. When asked, he gave me a couple of other private LR mechanics in the area.(Win-Win). Back at the counter, They said we'll call you in a couple of days...Well I got the call. I arrived back at the dealership and my car was parked under a overhang next to the service entrance. It was all washed, vacuumed and polished head to toe, tires too., unbelievable. I was Happy...Commander Chuck came out and I signed a release and he said "if there's anything else you need, let me know". Wow. I then picked at his brain with a load of questions that had built up over time and he answered them all quite convincingly...One of many was, How do I turn off the alarm for trailer towing. He says "that button right there"...How much for a key fob programming "$230 for 1 or 4"...Wow. How much for fixing the Timing chain repair debacle, "we don't do 'em"(smart)...
Anyway sorry for blathering...
I had a great experience at that dearlership...
I hope this helps somebody...
