Oil in intake

Newbie. Need some help please. 2000 RR running bad today, sluggish, no power when cold, ran lucas injection cleaner and lucas octane booster thinkin bad gas but...took off air intake hose to look for carbon found, oil on butterfly valve and hose connected to throttle body, any ideas? 78,000 miles. Synthetic oil changed 50 miles ago.

This is normal.... Basically it is dirty fuel residue. I would recommend cleaning this with a clean rag.

No power when cold, if you mean the engine was cold... then it may still be bad fuel, or the need for a tune up or new O2 sensors...

What maintenance if any has been done in the last 30k other than the oil change?

cleaned it out this weekend, running much better, thanks for the reply, but also checked the oil, the guys at the shop overfilled. The service engine light came on so I'll have the codes read, I'll bet its time to change the o2's.

If they have never been changed at 78k, then yes... they are probably due for changing.
