I have a '94 Discovery that over heats sometimes never in the red but the temp gauge does rise. It only happens sometimes, hard driving, a/c, very long hills ect.. I've been told that the radiators might be cloged. Was hoping there might be sometrhing else? Also does a radiator from say a 97 fit?? Thanks for any help/advice you can give!

Sounds like either the radiator/water pump or the fan clutch.

Not sure on the radiator fitting from a 97... check with atlantic british and check the part numbers.

Try declogging it by bringing to a repair shop. They will open it from the top and start declogging each fins by inserting a thin flat wire. This is one of the cheap fix trick to rule out one cause of overheating although there are plenty of things to consider. Good luck.

Get a combustion leak tester from NAPA and test to see if you have exhaust gas in the cooling system. Don't start throwing money at an undiagnosed problem. There are many posts like this one on this forum. Noone has reported a solution because they just replace parts. It could need a new rad or pump ( even OE pumps don't last past 45K) or viscous clutch, but these parts alone cost a grand- no labor. The combustion tester is less than $50. If the test liquid turns yellow email me and I will tell you what the problem is.
