I just had my LR3 on a steep hill and while in Drive it will roll backwards. Is this normal?

I have the exact opposite problem. While in reverse on a steep decline, mine will roll forward. And you can't fool me Houm, I'm not buying into this whole 'Earth' thing of which you speak...something CRAAAAAZY is going on here????

You silly Martians...it's not the opposite problem, it's the same just in a reverse configuration.

Park is not for holding any vehicle on any incline, every vehicle will roll, that is why you turn your tires towards the curb and set your e-brake

No **** Sherlock...

Depending on engine idle speed etc. some vehicles will not roll backwards on a steep incline while in drive. (my 2003 F-150 will not) My question is specific to the LR3. I was inquiring to what is the norm. Thanks for the comment though... it made you appear very intelligent.

Your sense of humor is pretty awesome too, Numb-nuts.

I don't think that anyone in this group can really comment on just how steep of an incline the LR3 can hold at idle while in drive. I don't notice the behavior of the LR3 being any different than any other vehicle I've owned.

keep in mind when you pull up to a light and have your foot on the brake, at idle the transmission disengages for the most part, hence the reason it will roll backward in drive and forward in reverse....if it still rolled back once you put your foot on the accelerator then i'd worry
