Technical question regarding ashtray

I have a (you will think) a goofy question regarding my ashtray and cointray. I have a 2004 Discovery and for some unknown reason both the ashtray and the cointray will not pop open like they are supposed to. I thought maybe it would be a fuse issue, but can't seem to find a solution. Anyone have any ideas or quick diy's?

Welcome to the forum... are thy like the older ones where you push in and they come out? If so they may just be dirty.

Joey, yes they are the kind that you push in and they're supposed to pop out. How would I go about cleaning them? Probably something real simple huh? Thanks for your help and great hearing from you.

I would just get some contact cleaner and spray around the edges.
