Sometimes my Rangie will wait until 2,000-2,500 RPM to shift into second gear, sort of like what I would expect when driving in sport mode. Sometimes it will shift more normally around 1,500 RPM. Anyone know what could cause this?

Also, on cold starts, sometimes she revs high, like 2,000 RPM. Once warm & I turn it off for a while & restart she will idle normally at about 700 RPM. What could cause this?

I searched & searched & even have a workshop manual CD & can't find anything other than the high RPM at idle might be caused by dirty intake components.

Of course, she is due for 120,000 mile service. I have yet to change anything except the oil in the 2,000 miles I've owned her.

Any info will be helpful.

Thanks!
