I just picked up set of Bosch Icon blades for the front, and the Bosch Microedge for the rear. They work very well, plus they hug the curves of the windshield without any streaks. If you decide to go this route, make sure you get the A&B blades as they are designed for the drivers and passenger side. 22' for each side.

Is there a reason you went with the Microedge for the rear? Is it a fitment issue? I notice that the OEM blades are different front/rear- so maybe that's the answer.

Yes, Bosch doesn't and Icon blade in 16' size. The Bosch rear is very similar to the OEM, but i wanted to the option of using refills that I can find at a local auto store.

Has anyone replaced the factory wiper blades? The rubber strips are already coming off the metal strip on the front wipers.
Dealer replaced both front blades under warrantee. I just mentioned that one of them was streaky during a service visit.

Going to the dealer on a Sunday wasn't an optioin, so the dealer paid for the replacements I picked up at a local auto store. very nice of them I thought.

So, on a side question...

I obviously got some debris on the rear window in the big snow I was in last week... the debris ended up putting some scratches on the rear window in the wiper path. One deeper than the others. The wipers are in great shape, though. D'oh!

Anyone have any experience with people that remove scratches from glass...? I'm not taking a polishing compound to the glass myself. :D

this may help. we had a stone chip in our windshield. we went to GO Glass and he put in some kind of filler to keep it from cracking. it also made the chip so you could not really see it. even if this doesn't help, they may of something that might.

also a thought. i am sure i have read about guys doing this on older restoration projects. i just can't remember which one. you might try a few forums, like the corvette forum and see what they suggest. i know it happens quite regularly with those old wipers. mine has a few scratches itself. but i got too many other things that take priority over that right now.

oem wiper blads

haven't had any problems with my wiper blades, yet.
bought my LR3 around early-mid 2005 and am still using the original blades - no noticable wear.

my trick is, i remove them every month or so and wash them with plain bath/hand soap and water - no cleaners or detergent!!

i'd tried using Son Of A Gun by STP and other cleaners but they actually ruin the blades. soap & water is the best option.

i see i'd posted last on this thread, but now the time's come for wiper-blade replacement. they've lasted extremely well (surprisingly!) and now i finally have to get them changed.

i was planning to get the Bosch Icons but if the dealer's ready to replace them for free under warranty, then why not get it done from them!!

when not under warranty, i saw a poor old bloke with a Jaguar XJ getting charged $70 at a dealership just to get the blade replaced while he waited..

so thats what the A & B's are for. i tried to talk to one of the "sales-guys" at Pep Boys and he was pushing the Trico blades as they were the only ones in their system. i asked him about the Icon's and he said, "you can buy them but we can't guarantee that they fit, etc.". why can't these people have more knowledge atleast regarding what field they're in..
