Has anyone here supercharged or turbocharged their LR4?

I was thinking the same thing on my 2010 Land Rover LR4. Logically I assumed that the 5.0 supercharged V8 and the naturally aspirated V8 were the same engine just one with a Supercharger on it. I was thinking about swapping the throttlebody, supercharger, belt, and intake manifold off A used range rover sport SC assuming it would fit. But after more thought reconsidered the ida because of the expense. I am still thinking about saving up and just asking my mechanic to fit one of a totaled SC Range Rover when I have the timing chain done since I’m at 106k and still haven’t had to do it. Would there be any issues with fitting one off a Range Rover.
This is the kinda thing i’d like to know.

What I want to know is how much work would it be to mount a bigger Kenne Bell twin screw in place of the Eaton m112. Some guy on the jaguar forums did it and was making the adapter plate for it. But I have not done the homework yet.
You should look on the jag forums because those guys are way more likely to tune their cars with the same engines than lr4 owners

To each their own, of course.

But adding complexity and additional points of failure is exactly the opposite of what I want in an offroad rig.

Just don't get the high horsepower SUV craze. They corner like crap no matter how much power they put down.

This. I grew up driving what are now considered "vintage" 4 wheel drives. Old Jeeps, Land Cruisers, etc. The 5.0 LR4 has plenty of power for everything I can think of doing with it, and it's already balanced on the edge of reliability as-is.

I've said this before, but I think the LR4 (V8) has plenty of power. If you got this car to go fast, you got the wrong car. This is my relaxed family cruiser. On sport mode (which is too aggressive, IMO) the LR4 can move surprisingly quickly.

It accelerates smoothly and effortlessly in a luxurious way. I still rather would have had a turbo diesel, but so be it, I'll take the big V8. But I have zero motivation to try to make this car faster even if it were free just based on the weight, complexity, unreliability, and other issues that may be introduced.

I have proper sports or sporty cars to scratch the speed itch. And if I had to have one car to do it all, it sure as heck would not be an LR4.

I feel ya. Again, it’s not that i want to do it to mine. I am quite happy with 375bhp. Trust me haha. It was more bc this annoying fella left me with a big question mark over my head, and should the topic come up again, I’d like to have an answer and actually know a little more about the topic.

how much better their Mercedes G-something or other was due to the turbo and extra horsepower, and despite my many attempts to peacefully assert a sort of “to each his own” ending to that topic, the guy seemed to want to hear me say that the Mercedes G was better because of power.

Sounds to me like the kind of person I would not want to interact with or who clearly knows so little about the subject, I would not bother to discuss it with them.

If someone starts boasting about how much better their Toyota FRS is because of how much it tows and wants me to say it's better than a Miata because of it, I would politely move the hell away from that ridiculous discussion.

I think that’s what I’ll do
